Love.
There is a quote by Rumi:
“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”
So I suppose I don’t really get to miss you all. You’re following what you really love, and that isn’t something that I could ever begrudge you. And you’re not leaving us, not really. You’re just growing. Growing up, growing out, growing above.
Graduation is in two weeks. Just two weeks.
I’ll miss the laughter down the hall, and the 6 a.m. Starbucks runs, the Hart of Dixie marathons, the pillowpets, the orange juice and the upside down water, the green aliens, the birds in the bathroom, midnight truth or dare, glitter everywhere, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Where the Wild Things Are, Dr. Suess cakes, baseball jerseys, family.
But you know? I won’t miss you. Because I won’t need to. All I have to do is remember.
So thank you. For everything.
